Increasing Public Participation around Data: Call for Input
Are you aware of or have you been involved in data-related projects, initiatives, or policies where public engagement methods and approaches were featured?
The Data Tank (TDT) and Agence Française de Développement (AFD) invite you to share your story and valuable input to a collaborative project. The focus of our research explores the conditions in which public engagement methods should be used when re-using data in low-income countries.
Data re-use has become vital in addressing today’s pressing challenges by informing policy and decision-making processes. Within this practice, engaging citizens is key as it allows for stakeholders to understand the impact that their projects, initiatives and policies can have on the public.
We are particularly interested in examples and use cases that showcase the contributions of public engagement methods in data re-use, as well as potential barriers and citizen motivation. Please find more information at datatank.org/contact or provide information at datatank.link/public_participation_data. Your insights matter, and we look forward to hearing from you.
The call for input is open until COB, Friday, September 29, 2023.
